Basic Brioche with Diana Ricketts

This is a two-part series.

Learn how to make super squishy fabric with the basic brioche stitch! This class will cover knitting brioche flat and in the round while shaping fabric with basic increases and decreases. We will also learn about the structure of brioche so that fixing mistakes is less daunting. 

Students will receive a pattern for the optional class project to apply their new skills.

Materials Required: 

• Needles: 16" circular US 8/5.0mm
• Yarn: two caked skeins of Malabrigo Rios in contrasting colors OR two 20g balls of scrap yarn in heavy DK to aran weight
• Crochet hook
• Tapestry needle

Prerequisites: This is an intermediate level class. Students must know how to knit, purl, cast on, bind off, and work in the round.
